BEBO Arch Bridge won Certificate of Excellence

Moore Concrete Ltd, in conjunction with Asset International for main contractor Costain, have been awarded a Certificate of Excellence at the 2015 Concrete Society Awards for the BEBO Arch, Heysham Bypass. This is currently the largest precast overfill arch in the world!

The Heysham to M6 Link Road is one of Lancashire’s top priority transport projects. The new road will complete the long awaited connection from the Heysham and Morecambe peninsula to Junction 34 of the M6, and will be a 4.8km dual carriageway with a footpath and cycleway along the entire route.

The T94 Arch Bridge Structure installed over the Milestone Canal, features a clear span of 28.6 metres at a rise of only 3.2 metres, a total length of 36.735 metres using 60 number precast units and is the largest precast over filled arch in the world to date.

BEBO Arch Bridge won Green Apple Award with Kier

ASSET INTERNATIONAL STRUCTURED SOLUTIONS working in partnership with Kier was awarded Bronze for the BEBO Arch Bridge which is the largest spanning, most heavily loaded pre-cast concrete structure of its type in Europe. When designing the bridge the following factors were taken into consideration: Weight and size of mining machinery – up to 300 tonnes over the BEBO Structure. Jamie Robertson Engineering Manager at Kier Group commented ‘Lovely job now it’s finished, working with Asset International the BEBO solution was certainly the way to go

Chartered Manager of the Year Award 2013

Asset International Director named Britain’s top manager for Considerable Resilience

Richard McTavish CMgr FCMI, Director, of Asset International, part of the Hill & Smith Group has scooped one of the UK’s most prestigious management and leadership awards. Richard was named the winner in the Considerable Resilience Category in the Chartered Manager of the Year competition, part of the Chartered Management Institute’s National Management & Leadership Awards which took in London on 10 October 2013.

The Chartered Manager of the Year accolade acknowledges exceptional impact, over and above that normally required of a Chartered Manager. In selecting Richard as the winner, the CMI took into account his skills such as:
• Exceptional organizational impact
• Use of the CMgr skills of leading people and managing change
• Ability to communicate succinctly and effectively
• Demonstrable commitment to CPD
